Bernard Petit specializes in content-driven video programs. His teaching materials, personally filmed with native speakers on location in many parts of the French and Spanish worlds, are used in some 2,500 universities and secondary schools. Current titles available on DVD directly from

Prof. Petit’s productions feature real people, not actors, and
offer 100% cultural and linguistic authenticity. His video footage formed
the basis for the award-winning CD Nouvelles Dimensions and also for Nuevas Dimensiones, created by Dr. James Noblitt, and has
been used on cable TV. He has also produced a number of promotional and training videos.
Past Vice-President of the American Association of Teachers of
French (AATF), Dr. Petit is Emeritus Professor of French and Director of
Interactive Telecommunications at SUNY Brockport. He has also taught at Rochester Institute of Technology and SUNY Stony Brook. He has offered “French Attitudes,” an advanced civilization
course, on electronic distance learning networks, and is former review editor
for the interdisciplinary scholarly journal, Contemporary French
Civilization. His research interests include France
and its people, Francophone cultures, the French presence in North America,
foreign populations in the United States, nonverbal communication, and
classroom technology
